Compose - Address Book

The Address Book module of Rainmail Groupware is a convenient tool to store and retrieve contact information. Rainmail offers Global and Personal Address book. While the Global address book is for storing contacts common to all members of the organization, the Personal address book is specific to the user. For more details on Address Book see section on Address Book. This topic provides instructions to use Address Book while composing emails.

  • To retrieve contact information from Address Book while composing an email:
  1. Click on Address Book (indicated by the red oval)

  1. The Address Book and its contents appear. The Contacts tab is displayed by default. To retrieve a contact stored under Companies, Users, Addresslist or Groups click on the respective tab

  1. Click on the edit box next to Search: (indicated by the red oval) and type any 2 consequent letters from the contact name/email address. Example: To retrieve the contact "Sales Team", type al or sa and click on the Search icon (indicated by the black oval)

  1. All contacts containing the search term are displayed

  1. To add a contact to Recipient, select the contact name and click on Add to Recipients button. Repeat the same procedure to add multiple contacts.
  2. To add a contact to CC or BCC, select the contact name and click on Add to CC (indicated by the red oval) or Add to BCC (indicated by the blue oval) button. Repeat the same procedure to add multiple contacts.

  1. Once completed click Close
  2. The selected contacts are added to the specified fields
