Users can lock files stored in the files module of Rainmail Groupware. This feature is particularly useful to provide read only permission to individual files in shared folders. Once locked, other users can only access the file but cannot overwrite.

• To lock a file:

1. Right click on the file that has to be locked
2. A menu pops up. Click on Lock file (indicated by the red oval)

3. The selected file is locked and is indicated by the Lock icon
