Securing Rainmail Server

Rainmail Server, depending on the modules selected, runs some externally accessible services. These services are secured using IP as well as user restrictions. During OS (Cent OS) installation, certain services are enabled by default. While these services may or may not be secured, many of them are unnecessary. To fully secure the server, it is required to stop all the unnecessary services. The same can be done as follows:

  1. Open a terminal using Start -> Accessories -> Terminal (or) Start -> System Tools -> Terminal.
  2. Run the following commands
    • cd /root/rainmails/utilities
    • bash icsstopservices.sh
  3. This will additionally secure Rainmail Installation.
